There are 3 exits off I-5 starting with #730 being in the middle.

Historically created by the railroad from Oregon to California. You can still hear the trains. We were attracted by the Railroad Park Resort and the Caboose Motel.

There are also two very nice waterfalls, Mossbrae Falls & Hedge Creek Falls. The visitors center (on the main street, Dunsmuir Avenue) was in the city office. They were friendly with good directions to both falls.

The water from the tap is crystal clear. Sengthong's Blue Sky Room & Restaurant has a great atmosphere (and some jazz). The Vietnamese, Laotian, Thai menu is intriguing but the ginger chicken was bland. Next time, I think I'll just order some sticky rice and the Vietnamese spring rolls (with an excellent sweet and spicy dipping sauce). The only other recommended eating spot was the Cornerstone Cafe (portabella mushroom omelette, baked goods, and lunch).

So you won't have to count them... there are 657 concrete railroad ties for every quarter of a mile.
